The Headmasters set is comprised of 35 episodes. The series pics up after season 3 of the American episiodes. It is an alternate continuation to the season 4 episodes. In other words, the japanese continuity doesn't include the season 4 "Rebirth" episodes, but has many of the same characters in it.

The list of characters is extensive. All of the main Headmasters that you saw in Rebirth are in this series: Chromedome, Highbrow, Hardhead, Brainstorm, Mindwipe, Weirdwolf, Skullcruncher, Fortress Maximus, Scorponok with Lord Zarak, and even the Targetmasters! There's also old greats and new ones like Blaster, Soundwave, Sixshot, the Trainbots, Punch, CounterPunch and many others. Many big names die off in this series, which makes this a MUST HAVE for any serious transformers fan.

You'll see tons of action from all of the Gestalts (Combiners), Six Changer - Sixshot, Optimus Prime, Metroplex, Trypticon, The TripleChangers, Autobot/Decepticon Cassettes, Rodimus Prime, Arcee, Kup, Blurr, Spike, Daniel, Dinobots, Galvatron, Cyclonus, Scourge, Throttlebots, Jazz, Cerebros, and many more.

The Headmasters is sold as a complete set on DVD HQ mode for $39, on VHS high quality SP mode for $49, or on VHS EP mode for $29, recorded directly from my Japanese Laserdisc boxed set and shipped to your door. Episodes are recorded utilizing a Time-Base Corrector to preserve high audio-visual quality and superior MPEG-2 compression( DVDs ). The Series is in Japanese, however, the episodes are very easy to follow. I have MANY people ask me why I don't offer the episodes in english, especially considering several other people around offer english subtitled or dubbed sets. The plain and simple truth is that there are NO high quality sources for the set in english, and I have very high video and audio quality standards. Not only that, but the translation has MUCH to be desired on the english versions of the sets, and the voices are horrible. No matter what anybody says , there are absolutely NO high quality sources for the english episodes, period. I have bought them ALL from every other reknowned collector trying to find a good master tape, and I havent found any source that even comes close to the quality of the japanese laserdiscs.
